Kivalliq Inuit Association has launched COVID-19 prevention initiatives. Initiatives include support for elders, traditional activities, and support to all its members in Kivalliq communities.

ITAC Second Wave Response

With the continued impacts of COVID-19 ravaging the global tourism Industry, the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) has put out an urgent call to the federal government for a new dedication of financial funding in the amount of $18.5M to support Indigenous tourism businesses or risk watching the industry irrevocably collapse.

Tourism Task Force

Next week the Tourism Task Force will meet to discuss how ED&T’s funding programs for tourism can be more supportive and relevant.

If you haven’t already applied for funding through CanNor’s Northern Business Relief Fund, you still have time! In recognition of the continuing impacts of COVID-19 on Tourism and related industries in the territories, CanNor is offering to extend financial support beyond July 31, 2020, to current eligible recipients of the NBRF program. The funding extension is based on demonstrated need and would provide funding up to a maximum of $100,000 or up to March 31, 2021, whichever comes first.
